GREAT NEWS!! We have been awarded a grant from the Waukesha County Community Foundation through the Carl J. Patrinos and Audrey Z. Patrinos Charitable Endowment Fund in the amount of $10,000.00.  What a blessing for Workcamp.

For almost 25 years we have been sending teens and adults from our parish on Workcamp Mission Trips around the country with Group Mission Trips. This year we worked with them to bring the trip to our community. This means that St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish is hosting a Workcamp this Summer. Our Workcampers will be attending this local camp as their camp for the summer, and will go out to serve low income, disabled, elderly and veteran residents in the area.  All our Workcamp regular fundraisers will still go towards our cost, but part of our responsibility as co-sponsors of the camp, is to fundraise for the cost of materials and provide hospitality for the camp.

This grant will be applied directly to the cost of materials for the approximately 50 projects that will be serviced.

EUCHARISTIC REVIVAL:  Year 3

Pillar 2: Eucharistic Identity

The Four Pillars Review

We are now half-way through examining the Four Pillars which support our Eucharistic life on earth. So far, we have looked at Eucharistic Encounter (making time for prayer and Eucharistic Adoration) and Eucharistic Identity (how closely we align ourselves to loving Christ as his sons and daughters). These Pillars are an integral part of the Eucharistic Revival, begun two years ago by the bishops of the United States. They envisioned a renewed encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist. The bishops’ goal at the conclusion of this multi-year effort, was for the people of God in our country to be formed, healed, converted, united and sent out to a world that is hurting and hungry. The Pillars help us to be ready to receive the unique life-altering, life-giving blessings of the Eucharist and, from this, have the strength to go out to bring Jesus to our family and friends. Next week, we will move forward to Pillar 3, Eucharistic Life. God bless you on your journey.

Co-sponsoring Workcamp 2025

For almost 25 years our church has been sending teens and adults from our parish on Workcamp Mission Trips around the country with an organization called Group Mission Trips. This Mission Trip has changed the lives not only of the teens and adults that attend, but the community and residents that we serve in. That is why this year we decided to work with Group Mission Trips to bring a Mission Trip to our community. This means that St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish is hosting a Workcamp this Summer. Our Workcampers will be attending this local camp as their camp for the summer, and they will be staying at the Pewaukee middle school for the week. The students will sleep on the classroom floors on air mattress use the gym for Mass and programs and will go out and serve low income, disabled, elderly and veteran residents in the area. Residents will need to live within 30 minutes of the middle school. All our Workcamp regular fundraisers will still go towards our group’s participant cost, but our responsibility as co-sponsors of the camp is to find the residents that need home repair projects done, fundraise for the cost of materials and provide hospitality for the camp.

We are looking for parishioners to get involved in one of these areas:

  1. Resident Application Team
  2. Fundraising for cost of material (e.g. paint, lumber and supplies needed for worksite)
  3. Hospitality Team with being involved the week of camp (e.g. taking popsicles to worksites, making goody bags, etc.)

Workcamp week will be July 20th to 25th, 2025
