Hospitals and clinics are desperate for blood donations. Normally, the Blood Center of Wisconsin has 90 or so sites each month at which they take blood donations.
Currently, there are three! Even if you have never donated before, make this your first time!
That is why we have expanded hours on Thursday (our regular donation day) and have added Friday as another opportunity for blood donation.
Expanded efforts during COVID-19: “We have instituted additional precautions at our donor centers and mobile blood drives consistent with CDC and AABB recommendations, including: prescreening of both our staff and potential donors for possible respiratory infections and fever, instituting social distancing throughout the donation process, beds six feet apart and/or separated by a partition, wiping down surface areas and beds frequently with appropriate cleaning solutions and providing only packaged snacks/drinks in our cafés.”
