The 2024 Lenten Season begins with the observance of Ash Wednesday on February 14. We want to remind you of the penitential regulations for the season. (These regulations apply even though Ash Wednesday coincides with Valentines Day.)

The Catholic Church asks each member to preserve the penitential character and purpose of Lent. For this reason: a) Catholics who have celebrated their 14th birthday are bound to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and each Friday of Lent; b) Catholics who have celebrated their 18th birthday, in addition to abstaining from meat, are to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Hence, on those days they may eat only one full meal. Smaller quantities of food may be taken at two other meals, but no food should be consumed at other times during those days. The obligation of fasting ceases with the celebration of one’s 59th birthday. Catholics should not lightly excuse themselves from these prescribed minimal penitential practices.

We will be having Stations of the Cross on:

Wednesday mornings after Mass at North Lake.

Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm we will have Stations of the Cross followed by Adoration until 7:30pm at North Lake.

Thursday evenings at 6:30pm we will have Stations of the Cross followed by Adoration until 7:30pm at Monches.

The Respect Life Team is pleased to announce that the Archdiocese has approved our plans for the Memorial For The Unborn.

Progress has already been made in preparing the foundations for three granite  tablets, a stamped concrete walkway and meditation area.
